Assists individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness due to an eviction notice or utility issues or help in avoiding foreclosure. Services include landlord mediation, utility company mediation, referrals, access to safe and affordable transitional housing. Households are counseled on restructuring debt, establishing reinstatement plans, foreclosure prevention strategies, loan forbearance, management of household finances, obtaining rental subsidies, landlord and renter rights, the eviction process and locating alternative housing. Financial assistance also consists of security deposit assistance, rent payment assistance, and assistance with back utilities and back rent. Transitional housing is located in Almond and is only for individuals or families who are facing homelessness.
